MARRIAGE NOTES

Today will be perfect
In every single way.
A beautiful fairy tale
For your wedding day.
The theme of your day
Is to have love and laughter
And to live your days
Happily ever after.

Family and friends, great food, drink and music make for a memorable wedding day. But what does it take to make a successful, happy and rewarding marriage?

Marriage Notes is a community based project designed to listen to, learn from and celebrate the life lessons of married people.

The initiative delivers testimony from individuals in a recorded 50-minute conversation — not to share mother-in-law jokes, but to enrich the lives of singles and other married people. Where possible, audio and video recordings of each interview will be archived on this website.

OUR PROCESS

We have a simple, 5-stage process that is designed to minimise the time you need while making the most of every moment.

  1. Register your interest
  2. 30 minute virtual pre-interview session (online)
  3. 1 hour interview (In person or online)
  4. 1 hour photography session (in person)
  5. 30 minute final session to cover any thoughts you may want to share (online)

Following the final session, you will be presented with a printed copy of your edited portait along with digital copies that you are free to share on social media.

At this point, your interview and photograph will be archived on this website and shared on our social media channels.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR MARRIAGE EXPERIENCE

Tell us how you have navigated the long road of marriage by answering these six questions:

  1. Why did you marry your partner?
  2. In what particular way if any, has your marriage been different to what you’d imagined?
  3. What has made you grateful for your marriage in the last 3 years?
  4. What lessons if any has being married taught you?
  5. What do you know now that you wish you had known when you were single?
  6. How would you like your marriage to develop over the next 3 years? Do you know what plans to put into place to make that happen?
